Hi

Not sure if anyone is still on this forum but I'll give it a go.

I've downloaded an old rigging guide by Richard Willows. It's useful but could really do with some photos or diagrams.

In particular, I'm struggling to visualise how to rig a 16:1 kicker and the rear strop (the guide talks about fitting balls to it).

Can anyone help please?

Cheers

Phil

Hi Phil,

Yes, there are still a few out here ;-) With my previous Vareo I changed the kicker myself to 16:1 and have photo's with my measurements for guidance. My present Vareo has a different setup but still 16:1 and will make some pics and post it on the site.
Transom balls are quite easy and protects the gelcoat from the block hitting the gelcoat. Will post photos this weekend.

Cheers!

Hi Arwin

Thanks for your reply. Photos would be great, thanks.

I got the impression that the transom balls allowed the strop length to be varied?

Cheers

Hi Phil,

You can download the files from Dropbox:

Mainsheet traveller:

On the traveller, the info can also be found on this website under Tuning/Class Legal Mods

Kicker 16:1:

Regarding the kicker, the first example is from my previous 341 which I converted myself from 8:1 to 16:1 by an example found on the Yahoo forum which is now closed. The second example shows my setup as found when buying my current boat. Can't really feel the difference which one runs better.

Otherwise join the Nats in Llandegfedd and see how others have their setup!!

Cheers!

Hi Arwin

Sorry for not replying, I am not getting notifications from the forum that new posts are appearing.

The photos look really helpful, thank you. I shall have a go at doing the mods before Sunday's racing.

Sadly, the nationals are a bit of a trek for me in Chichester.

Cheers
